I have been following the conversation on the Daily Telegraph the last few weeks fro the statements by Baroness Warsi where she made the ridiculous claim that Muslims were basically being persecuted by the majority of society and they were the victims. This coming on the heels of numerous tales of young Muslim men sexually exploiting, pimping and abusing white teenage girls.
Then we had Peter Oborne rushing to her defense saying she was right and we were all nasty people and bigots.
To Warsi’s and Oborne’s surprise they had tapped into a well spring of simmering rage from the general population at the Islamification of society and a realization that maybe western liberal culture maybe incompatible with Islam.
Now we have Cameron saying integrate and accept liberal western values being tolerant of sex, race, sexuality etc although he does not say what he will do if you don’t. I think Oborne and Warsi were used to test sentiment across his core vote and beyond could he take the risk of alienating Tory voting Muslims (few and far between).
So now Cameron has a mandate to appear tough but his comments could equally apply to the Catholic churches traditionalists but no one is paying attention to that.
So those a just a few rambling thoughts on the subject.
