Tea brands.

December 31, 2012 by Syd

The Phuc Long tea brand of Vietnam was recently brought to my attention and their mission statement….

“A passion for quality

The passion of bringing tea and coffee benefits into everyday life helps Phuc Long always providing exceedingly high quality products, enhance consumer satisfaction. Passionate in quality is Phuc Long motto.”

Mrs Oz used to work in the payroll department of a large Quango so she would see some pretty funny names. One Vietnamese bloke rejoiced in the name Kok Long. That was on the payroll database, at least. Except of course, due to the Asian inversion of given and family names, he was known to all and sundry as Long Kok.

I guess it pays to advertise 🙄

Totally waycist but reminds me of the craze for Chinese writing on T-shirts and stuff in the 80’s, when in the local Chinese takeaway “Tommy” the owner (we never knew his real name) burst out laughing when someone walked in wearing such a T-shirt. The youf got very angry and demanded to know why, then Tommy explained it read something like “this man is a dick” to paraphrase.

There is a popular restaurant in Honolulu is named Fook Yuen. I think that is the brand of tea they serve there. No wonder it’s so popular!
    Happy New Year, Kitler!
